A letter from Tom: January 12

Dear Friends,
I am posting Tom's letter to me even though it may not be entirely relevant to everyone else.

Dear Traci & Rick,

Thanks for your email. I received it last night. And yes it is now the second one I've received. Now not only my dad emails but you and Bobby R have sent them. I received one the other day that was sent at 3:05 p.m. and got it that night. It's a much quicker way of communicating even if I have to respond I can get a letter in the mail the next morning - as they pick up our mail each morning at 7:00 a.m. and it should go out that same day.

Bobby indicated that I am currently under review even though I haven't seen parole which is okay by me. He also received everyone's support letters (Eric included) and plans to send it off sometime very soon. Maybe I already mentioned it but my friend from Alamo received his parole and will be leaving in the next few weeks. I told him I would ask - do you know anyone who hires men to work offshore? He's done that before. If so maybe you can send me a name and an address so he can contact them.

He got parole without any parole packet, support letters or job--go figure. I think Arnold said a while back that when it's your time to go you will go. I'm guessing Arnold's busy as Bobby said he would be putting this year's packet together. At least I have the two of them looking out for that packet. And thanks for offering to call the parole member (Mr. Garcia). I know Mr. Aliseda in the San Antonio region scheduled calls from family and friends. Hopefully it is the same procedure in the Huntsville Region and he will accept your call.

Thanks again for the new shipment of books and for contacting the newspaper. Keep me posted on your progress with parole. I'm getting excited about the prospect of leaving.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Tom
